Full Time, Reduced Time, Part Time, Flex, Regular and Seasonal — what each one means, with real examples.
Updated October 2026
Amazon's UK job listings use a few terms that can be confusing at first. Here's what they mean, with real examples from our recent alerts.
Shift types
| Type | Typical hours | Real example from an alert |
|---|---|---|
| Full Time | ~40 hrs/week | Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed 02:00 - 12:30 (4 × 10 hours) |
| Reduced Time | ~30–37 hrs/week | Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun 02:00 - 10:30 (32 hours) |
| Part Time | ~20–24 hrs/week | Sun, Mon, Tue 03:00 - 11:30 (24 hours) |
| Flex Time | Varies | Pick up blocks of hours that suit you |
Regular vs Seasonal
Regular roles are ongoing. Seasonal roles cover busy periods such as peak (autumn to Christmas) and may be extended. Both appear in our alerts and are labelled clearly on the 💼 line.
